Angers SCO won the U17 French Championship semi-final against Clermont Foot 63. The first period was complicated for the Clermont Foot 63 players. Too timid in the duels and struggling to control the game, they suffered the opposing attacks and conceded two goals that forced them to chase the score. But at the return of the vestiaires, pushed by an exceptional public that never stopped encouraging their team, the young Clermontois showed a completely different face. From the restart, they returned to the game thanks to a magnificent collective action concluded by Mehdy Znifakh. Relaunched by this goal, the Rouge & Bleu multiplied their efforts to return to level. They did not let go until the final whistle, showing remarkable determination. It would have only been a matter of a little more efficiency in the last meters to turn the game around. Maxence Soulet notably obtained several important opportunities that could have allowed the Clermontois to return to the score. Despite all their efforts and a second period largely in their favor, the Clermontois finally had to concede on the smallest of margins. This defeat should not, however, forget the essential: the extraordinary season achieved by this group. Their journey, their state of mind and the emotions offered throughout the exercise will remain engraved in the memories.
